Immature Babirusa
Babirusa (Babyrousa celebensis), Nantu Wildlife Reserve, Sulawesi, Indonesia
The Babirusa is a very strange mammal endemic to Sulawesi and a few small neighboring islands. It is rare and endangered due to poaching and habitat destruction, but I observed many animals daily at the famous clay lick at Nantu Wildlife Preserve. To learn more about this enigmatic animal, refer to the several blog posts about them on Tetrapod Zoology <link>.
