Standardwing Bird-of-Paradise
Standardwing Bird-of-Paradise (Semioptera wallacii), Aketajawe-Lolobata National Park, Halmahera, Indonesia
The Standardwing is one of two species of Birds-of-Paradise that occur on Halmahera, which is just to the west of New Guinea. Males of the species congregate at raucous leks early in the morning to vie for the attention of females.
