Greater Long-nosed Armadillo (Dasypus kappleri), CICRA Los Amigos Biological Station, Madre de Dios, Peru

This species looks similar to a Nine-banded Armadillo, but is much larger and has weird knee “scutes.” I waited for 30 minutes for it to come out in the open; when it did, it was too close for a good photo.
